The little planet of Pern hasn't changed much in the last few hundred Turns. Dragons are born, songs are sung, Thread falls, life goes on. Its been simple and meager place in Lysindiria Weyr for even longer. Even with it being one of the most open and accepting places on Pern, if you're a woman, non hetero, not a rider or not noble you're pretty much fucked over for a good life. No one shakes up the rules in Lysindiria Weyr. Shaking up the rules could get you banished to being Holdless, and when Thread is falling that's not joke. So, no one would dare break any of those fabricated rules on society.... That is, until a Queen egg hatches bright red.
